Algarve Costume Ethnographic Museum (Museu Etnográfico do Trajo Algarvio)
Set in a nineteenth century palace, this museum established in 1982
features more than 1500 pieces from around the Algarve, with emphasis on the traditional costumes and ethnographic items from the Algarve.
In one of the 16 rooms features a collection of dolls, with about 300 pieces, which make known the costumes and customs of many countries. The Algarve region is represented with the dolls of Querença, Ameixial, Martinlongo, and the with the interesting Marafonas (a kind of homemade dools) with legs and arms of cane.
