Monuments and heritage of the Algarve, Aljezur Arrifana Fortress
Fortress built in the fifteenth century and rebuilt in the seventeenth century, but unfortunatly only a few walls remains. The batteries were placed in front of the entrance of the fortress, on the top of a cliff. Near this fortress, probably, was a Zawia of the XII century, who have belonged to a prince of the first Moorish kingdom of Algarve, Ibn Caci, to contemplate Allah and write.
From this place, we have a magnificent view!
