Praia do Barril - Pedras d'El Rei Tavira - Algarve - Portugal
Praia do Barril belongs to the system of islands known as the barrier island. To get to Praia do Barril may do so using the train or walking, thus opting for a healthier travel and ecological. The second assumption allows also a better observation of a wide variety of plant and animal species.
In crossing the marsh, and during low tide, you can see a sort of crab, a Boca Cava-Earth (Uca tangeri) and some waterfowl, such as the stilt (Himantopus himantopus).
Along the dune system we can find species of vegetation as Aetheorhiza bulbous, the Ammophila arenaria (reversal), the Anagallis monelli, the Armeria pungens (Armeria) and Eryngium maritimum (thistle oil).
In the dune area, in front of catering establishments, we can observe the Cemetery of Anchors. The Festival, which is now recovered and working as beach facilities, services some decades ago to house the fishermen from the fishing of tuna and their families.
Praia do Barril has been, since 1987, awarded the Blue Flag and is distinguished by the quality of their environment clean and healthy and have cleaning services, security and information to users.
