Algarve Nativity Villages and Towns Feastival of São Braz de Alportel Photos.
The Feast of the Nativity in the Villages and Towns of Algarve is an initiative of the Steering Committee and Regional Development of the Algarve. In 6. Edition includes 18 holdings: São Brás de Alportel, in addition to Corotelo, are participating in the villages of Alportel, Mosque and axes, the municipality of Silves, Vila Alcantarilha, Monchique, nativity displays in Alferce; Loulé is represented with cribs in Ameixial Cortelha, Penina and Tor; Alcoutim with Martinlongo and Cowboys, Lagos, has crib in the village of Barão de S. John, Tavira, part of the village of Cachopo; Faro, with Estói, Castro Marim with Odeleite and, finally, Albufeira with Paderne.
A collective effort, which aims to stimulate creativity, enhance and preserve the ancient traditions of Christmas, held in memory of the people, uniting people, making it the strongest ties of friendship and conviviality site.
Pictures recorded in the village of Axes - (the Poets Park, next to EN 2, 3 km south of the town of Sao Bras de Alportel), a traditional Nativity figures created from fabric, cork, straw, moss and other reused, giving the "Happy Holidays" to those who pass through this village. This work has been performed with the participation of the population together with elements of the Sports and Cultural Axes.
